Rumor: Red Dead Redemption 2 map leaks online

Red Dead Redemption has been a fan favorite ever since it launched back in 2010 and since then, fans have been hoping & praying for a sequel. However, with all the recent rumors, no one could tell if it will become official or not, until now that is.

Earlier today, the reported Red Dead Redemption 2 map was leaked online. It was first spotted on NeoGaf by user Mideon that claims he received it from a source he will not mention. Soon after, the image was taken down, but by then it was too late and the image was scattered across the internet.

TechRadar followed up on the rumored map by stating that the “map is indeed the real deal” from a source close to the development of the new Red Dead game.

Take a look at the screenshot down below:

TechRadar’s source not only confirms that this is a very recent, and a real copy of the map, but also confirms that instead of a proper sequel, the game will be a prequel. The lack of railroad tracks matches the claim of a prequel title.

However, despite the missing railroads, it looks like a new gameplay feature will include boat travel. As you can see in the picture above, the right side is filled with little islands which will presumably be able to explore either by boat or swimming. The game is “supposedly” taking place a little more East than the original game, as you can see from the image down below, there is a lot of similarities between the two maps.

There has yet to be any official word from Rockstar on the rumored Red Dead Redemption 2, but if the rumors are to be true then we will be seeing the announcement at E3 2016. But we have are reasons on why all these RDR rumors are most likely fake, click here to read more on that.

Let us know in the comments below if you like the idea of a prequel Red Dead Redemption instead of a sequel!

Red Dead Redemption, GTA 5 publisher files trademark for 'Judas'

Take-Two Interactive, the publishing company that owns Rockstar Games, 2K Games and Firaxis Games has filed a trademark for what appears to be a new game. The trademark made its appearance on the European Union Intellectual Property Office site (via NeoGaf) yesterday and is currently under examination.

The trademark does not hint at what game development studio has been working on the game or will be working on the game, however it does clearly state that the Take-Two is looking to trademark the name 'Judas.'

The classification for numbers for the trademark (9,41)  suggest that Judas will be a video game that will feature online services. While it's expected that Judas is a new game, there's also a chance that this could be an expansion or DLC for a currently released game. If that is the case, the description for the rumored Grand Theft Auto 5 Story Mode DLC fits right in with the name Judas.

Biblically, Judas is a betrayer, someone that stabs his friends in the back. The story line for the not yet official DLC has the main character Anthony killing his friend in cold blood.

Whether or not these two are linked has not been verified (nor has the DLC).

The guy that is suing Rockstar is the man that made Red Dead Redemption happen

Earlier today it came to light that that the former President of Rockstar, Leslie Benzies, is suing the game development studio for $150 million in unpaid royalties. Benzies claims that he was forced out of the company after taking a lengthy sabbatical between September 2014 and April 2015.

The statement from Benzies' attorneys read that Sam Houser and Dan Houser were the individuals that made the push to remove Benzies from the studio.

While the lawsuit itself is interesting, the details coming to light in the court documents (via GamesIndustry.biz) are even more interesting. According to court documents, Red Dead Redemption released as a blockbuster because of Benzies. Emails between Sam Houser and Benzies show Houser nearly begging Benzies to help them streamline the development in Red Dead Redemption.

It looks like Benzies played a major role in that game, it will be interesting to hear why he was fired when more information is released.

While Benzies' role in Red Dead Redemption's release is interesting, the rest of the court documents read like some kind of script for an 'Office' version of Grand Theft Auto – especially the part that talks about encouraging "a company culture involving strip clubs, personal photography of employees in sexually compromising positions, and other conduct grossly in violation of standard workplace norms."

This is Benzies documentation of the event – we can only fidget in anticipation for the Houser's account of the events.
