Supergiant Games, creators of Bastion and Transistor, have just revealed the first trailer for their upcoming role playing game, Pyre. Check it out above!
Pyre places you deep in purgatory as you lead a band of exiles through a series of combat trials, known as the Rites, through which the worthiest competitors will be granted safe passage back home. Supergiant Games Creative Director, Greg Kasavin, had this to say:
“Pyre once again showcases our small team’s commitment to rich atmospheric presentation and storytelling, along with a distinctive gameplay blend that combines expressive decision making on the world map with fast, action-packed confrontations against rival groups of exiles whose own freedom is at stake. We want to create a large cast of characters you can grow close to as you travel together across a strange and wondrous land.”
The game will be available to demo at booth #8212 during PAX East in Boston, which runs this weekend from April 22-24.
Pyre releases exclusively on Playstation 4 in 2017!
Metroid Prime Federation Force has finally received its official release date. The title will be released this Summer for the US on August 19 and September 2 for Europe, missing its expected Spring release.
The European release date was confirmed via the official European Nintendo Twitter account, which you can see down below. While the US version was announced via a PAX East press release which also notes that the game will be available for hands-on impressions this weekend.

"Also playable at the Nintendo booth is the Metroid Prime: Federation Force game," it reads. "The sci-fi shooter that finds a squad of up to four players working together to combat space pirates launches exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on Aug. 19."
Metroid Prime Federation force was originally announced back at E3 2015. Despite severe backlash from Nintendo fans, particularly over the Blast Ball game mode, the company is going forward with the much-maligned game, confident that it will be "fresh and appealing" in the end.
The outcry became so severe after the game's announcement, that a petition was started in an effort to get the company to cancel the game.

Rock Band 4 has been down this road before. Like Fallout 4 before it, Rock Band 4 is crossing over with Gearbox's upcoming MOBA-FPS hybrid, in the form of the Battleborn characters, Thorn and Miko, who will be available as playable characters in Rock Band 4 as DLC. The announcement was made by Gearbox's Rock Star CEO, Randy Pitchford at a panel during PAX East today.
Pitchford didn't share much more than that, but he did say that there will be a Harmonix panel tomorrow, Sunday April 24th, where the Developers themselves will go more into depth. Stay tuned for more information on that.
PAX East has been a very busy weekend (and as such Twitch planned accordingly) with confirmation of Borderlands 3's development as well as the possibilities for The Banner Saga 3. More announcements are sure to follow as the weekend rolls along.
Heading to PAX East this weekend? Well, Twitch is making sure you've got no excuse to smell bad at the show. The game streaming giant will be giving away free Old Spice Pure Sport Plus deodorant this weekend to try and keep the B.O. stink to a minimum. Cliff Bleszinski tweeted out a picture as proof.

Old Spice is listed as one of Twitch's sponsors for the event, so it's pretty creative that they are taking advantage of their sponsorship in such a creative and applicable way. Show floors have a tendency to…build up a plethora of unique odors as the hours pass by, so if you are heading to the show, please do your fellow gamers a favor and take advantage of the giveaway.
To say that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has a boatload of content in it is one of the biggest understatements you can make. Between the girth of the open world, the intriguing side quests, the gear you can find, and the characters you'll meet, you'll have plenty of bang for your buck. That's not to mention the main campaign either.
Today at a panel during PAX East, Developers from CD Projekt RED announced that the upcoming expansion, Blood and Wine will also feature additional cards for the in-game mini game, Gwent.
Officially, a new Skellige faction will be added to Gwent on top of four addtional new cards.
Details on Blood and Wine have been tricking in at a more frequent pace recently with the unveiling of the box art as well as a batch of beautiful new screenshots. Currently there are rumors of a release in June, but unfortunately it's still not confirmed.
The Banner Saga is one of the best indie games you can play right now. It started out as a PC exclusive, but has gradually made its way to Xbox One, PS4 and mobile devices with a PS Vita version due sometime in the future thanks to Sony.
This weekend is PAX East up in Boston (don't forget your free deodorant courtesy of Twitch), and Developers from all over the world are speaking and taking questions at various panels. Speaking today, Lead Concept Artist Arnie Jorgensen and Lead Programmer John Watson discussed The Banner Saga 3, though no official details were set in stone.
Jorgensen teased that the story will grow to become "stranger and stranger," drawing on the "weirdness" of Norse mythology.
The game's world is a "very fertile ground for storytelling." said Watson; and Stoic has a strong desire to "flesh [the story] out for a long time." according to Jorgensen.
Obviously, the pair didn't guarantee anything, most likely due to the small nature of the studio. Jorgensen added, "The longer we get to do this, the more of the world we'll see."
This pretty much translates to, the future of the franchise is in the hands (wallets) of the fans. Indie Development is a tough and risky business, and considering the company is comprised of only three people, this makes sense.
The Banner Saga 2 was delayed until this year, releasing only this past week on April 19th. But if you want to see more of The Banner Saga in the future, the best way to do that is to support the team by picking up their games.
