The Xbox One just got one app richer with the HBO NOW application. The app, which is currently available, will allow you to obsessively stream HBO shows and movies without requiring a TV cable package.
The best part of the $15 a month app? Shows will be available on the application as they premiere on HBO. Of course, there will be a slight lag between the program airing (like with HBO GO), but you still get to watch Game of Thrones episodes the night they release.
In addition to that, you'll more than likely be able to cancel your subscription and re-sub every time your favorite show begins a season.
And yes, it will be available on the Xbox 360 – despite Microsoft officially retiring the console from production yesterday. HBO NOW is compatible with the Kinect.
It hasn't even been 24 hours since last night's Season premiere of Game of Thrones concluded and HBO is already making us wish it was Sunday night. Which means they are doing their jobs well. HBO has released some ultra vague, but very tease-worthy descriptions about what we can expect over the next two episodes.
Kinda sorta spoilers may or may not follow.
Here's the description for Episode 6.02
“Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) trains with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow). In King’s Landing, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) advises Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman). Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) demands good news, but has to make his own. At Castle Black, the Night’s Watch stands behind Thorne (Owen Teale). Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) proposes a plan, and Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide) entertains other proposals.”
Here's the description for Episode 6.03
“Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift."
HBO has been prepping fans for the launch of the new season over the past few weeks with clips, the launch of HBO GO on Xbox platforms, as well as a few pranks from Maisie Williams.
When the season finale of Game of Thrones season 5 debut last year, fans of the show went absolutely nuts. Leaving them to speculate on the fate of one of the most beloved characters on the show, however, HBO (via TVLine) has finally put an end to the suffering and confirmed the state of Jon Snow.
The time has come, the official word from HBO is that …. Jon Snow is Dead.
Now this is probably not the outcome you were hoping to see when the show returns later this month, but this is what the official description of the episode states. The season premiere also has a couple of interesting things besides Jon Snow's fate including “Daenerys meets a strong man”, and “Cersei sees her daughter again.”
A couple months back Kit Harrington, the actor who plays Snow, went on record saying that this very outcome would happen. "People didn't want me to die, but he's dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it," stated Harington.
However, since the episode is titled "The Red Woman", fans of the show are still leery if this whole "Snow is Dead" is to be trusted. Perhaps, this could be just one big elaborate hoax that wants to catch you off guard. Let us know in the comments below what you think!
Season 6 of Game of Thrones is set to air on Sunday, April 24 (9/8c).
HBO has unveiled an inside-look into the first episode of Game of Thrones, season six, featuring an emotional coming together between both Cersei and Jaime Lannister.
Cersei – to our understanding – doesn't have a glass of wine in her hand either. So, you know, at least the break from being on-screen has had a positive effect on somebody…
On the other hand, fans can't wait to see what happens in the upcoming season. After all, the books are not available to use as a reference point this time around, and based on the promotional material HBO have released thus far, things could be about to get interesting.
The show is set to return to screens on HBO on April 24th and will repeat for viewers in the UK the following day on Sky Atlantic.
Game of Thrones' TV script-writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have revealed that American President Barack Obama has access to episodes from the show's upcoming season.
This news might come as a shock to many Game of Thrones fans, then again it might not, but when asked about how Obama obtained such secretive content, the duo responded in a rather frank fashion.
Speaking at the Game of Thrones Season Premiere, both writers were asked whether or not there was a moment that signified that they had 'made it,' for lack of a better expression.
Weiss responded: "I think, for both of us, finding out the President wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an 'aha' moment. That was a very strange moment."
In sheer shock the interviewer, Veronica Belmont, asked whether or not it was true, because as many fans are aware, these two like to joke around a little during interviews.
"Yes," Weiss confirmed. "He’s the leader of the free world."
Benioff added: "When the commander-in-chief says 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?"
So, there you have it. You're either jealous of Barack Obama right now, or would like to discuss the entire season with him over a cup of coffee, maybe biscuits – who knows.
Either way, not too long to go now! Season six of Game of Thrones is set to air live on April 24th, HBO, and will hit screens in the UK a day later on Sky Atlantic.

After months of Kit Harington telling Game of Thrones fans that their beloved Jon Snow had died and would not be making a return, it turns out he was lying all along.
This week's episode came to a close with Davos and Melisandre trying to revive Jon Snow, but after it looked like their attempts had failed, they left the room. Little did they know, Snow started to breathe again – despite Harington categorically claiming that his character was not coming back.
Well, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kit Harington gave his post-episode comments. He said: “Sorry! I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’
"But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing – or the show is doing – is right.”
Whatever way you look at this resurrection, one thing is for certain – Jon Snow definitely knew something this time around.
While Game of Thrones is just days away from its Season 6 debut, other members of the cast may have their eye on other major projects. Maisie Willaims, who portrays Arya Stark on HBO's juggernaut fantasy series has been rumored for the role of Wolfsbane for about a month now, and she just recently revealed her thoughts on the casting rumors.
I can’t say much about it at all, but I would absolutely love to be a part of it, [and] to be a part of the Marvel family,” Williams said about possibly joining the X-Men spin-off when asked recently by EW. “New Mutants looks absolutely incredible and I’ve always loved the idea of spin-offs and [director] Joshua Boone is incredibly talented. So, yeah, sign me up.
None of this is set in stone, but her reaction would seem to indicate that there is something cooking beneath the surface.
Wolfsbane is a Scottish mutant with the ability to transform into a wolf at will. IMO, Maisie is pretty much a perfect fit for the role.

Here's a great way to get ready for the Season 6 premier of Game of Thrones. Not by binge watching every episode, but by watching one of the show's stars giveaway free stuff in "disguise".
Maisie Williams stopped by a local Los Angeles Hobby Shop, Aero Hobbies, to giveaway free merchandise to fans of the show. At a cost.
Every person who wanted a free item had to re-enact a scene from the TV Show as "payment" for what Williams called "Game of Thrones swag".
