Players report character wipes in The Division following update; Ubisoft investigating

The Division was hit with a major content update today that brought new gear, daily Dark Zone supply drops, a new Incursion Mission and more. Apparently, filed under more we can find character wipes and other issues.

Xbox One owners (and a couple PlayStation 4 owners) are reporting that logging into The Division after the update has downloaded resulted in a character wipe. Most of the reports state that the first time they log in they are not met with an issue, but the second log in results in the harrowing experience of having your character wiped.

Other players note that they noticed that their Stash was completely gone, as well as their cosmetic items, including the rewards from Ubisoft Club, Collectibles and DLC.

It appears as though the issue is not localized to main characters being wiped, but also affecting alternate characters. The same players with their main character wiped have stated that their alternate characters refuse to load with all of their limbs attached.

Ubisoft has acknowledged the issue and are looking into on a case-by-case status. If you are experiencing this issue, head to Reddit where the developer is requesting details like gamertag and platform to sort this all out.

DOOM's Open Beta is getting slammed on Steam

The internet sure loves to blast whatever it can get its hands on. The same appears to be true for Bethesda's upcoming DOOM reboot on Steam. Over the last four days, DOOM's Open Beta has accrued over 12,000 user reviews on Steam and only 38% of them are positive.

There are a few notable consistencies in the feedback and they are as follows:

  • Player movement is lethargic
  • Weapons feel weak, resulting in more bullet spongy enemies
  • Weapons are no longer found/earned on the map, instead the game gives players loadouts
  • The speed of the matches is slow as well. The game doesn't have that classic controlled chaos of older ID games.

There are also quite a few of the dreaded "this was made for consoles" remarks that are sure to draw the ire of Xbox and PlayStation fans alike.

If you're interested in checking out the user reviews for yourself, you can check them out here.

Mass Effect themed 4D amusement ride coming this spring

The Mass Effect franchise keeps on getting bigger and a ride at California's Great America is the next step in expanding the franchise. It will let visitors explore the Mass Effect universe like never before.

The Mass Effect themed ride will be a 4D holographic experience and will be called "Mass Effect: New Earth". This attraction will have the world's largest LED screen and will let visitors get seated in a "motion-based seating" while wearing 3D glasses "live performers will curate the journey and interact seamlessly with the next generation 3D visuals". Additionally, the ride will also have "high-tech" sounds and other various 4D effects.

Mass Effect: New Earth was first announced back in October and will now be open for the public this Spring. The attraction has been developed in partnership with EA and BioWare to create as authentic of a Mass Effect Experience as possible.

This isn't the first video game to get a theme park ride, in 2015 Nintendo got their own rides at Universal Studios, and it seems to be a trend to get a theme park ride to further expand an already loved franchise.

No exact date for when Mass Effect: New Earth will open for the public has been announced, just that it will open sometime during the spring of 2016.

Uncharted 4's multiplayer DLC will be free for everyone

Lead game designer from Naughty Dog, Robert Cogburn, took to the PlayStation Blog to announce that Uncharted 4's multiplayer DLC will be free for everyone.

Cogburn wanted to let fans know right off the bat that Naughty Dog plans on "not fragmenting the UC4 community by different types of DLC". So this means all multiplayer DLC including the maps, guns, and clothing options will be free for everyone.

Right off the bat, we want to highlight that all future maps and modes will be included with Uncharted 4 at no additional cost, and all vanity and gameplay in-game store items will be unlockable through gameplay!

This means that the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer community won’t be fragmented by different types of DLC and that those who are loyal in participating in the community will be rewarded.

Naughty Dog even illustrated how their in-game rewards will work. Players will complete daily challenges and win matches to earn relics which they will spend on to get new stuff; check out the detailed picture above!

In addition to the free DLC announcement, Cogburn also mapped out how the DLC will release. In the picture below, you can see by Summer 2016 we will have new weapons, a new mode, and much more, followed by a co-op mode in Autumn 2016 and continued support until Spring 2017.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is set to release on May 10 exclusively for PS4.

Red Dead Redemption, GTA 5 publisher files trademark for 'Judas'

Take-Two Interactive, the publishing company that owns Rockstar Games, 2K Games and Firaxis Games has filed a trademark for what appears to be a new game. The trademark made its appearance on the European Union Intellectual Property Office site (via NeoGaf) yesterday and is currently under examination.

The trademark does not hint at what game development studio has been working on the game or will be working on the game, however it does clearly state that the Take-Two is looking to trademark the name 'Judas.'

The classification for numbers for the trademark (9,41)  suggest that Judas will be a video game that will feature online services. While it's expected that Judas is a new game, there's also a chance that this could be an expansion or DLC for a currently released game. If that is the case, the description for the rumored Grand Theft Auto 5 Story Mode DLC fits right in with the name Judas.

Biblically, Judas is a betrayer, someone that stabs his friends in the back. The story line for the not yet official DLC has the main character Anthony killing his friend in cold blood.

Whether or not these two are linked has not been verified (nor has the DLC).

The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine expansion box art looks amazing

Watch Bungie reveal new Sandbox and Crucible Changes coming to Destiny with the April update

Bungie's first livestream for Destiny's coming April Update gave us a good look at what Guardians will be able to do once in the game once the update releases, like the new Prison of Elders, Strike, increased Light cap and more.

The second one gave us a look at all of the gear Guardians can look forward to earning, and now the time has come for the final livestream.

Today's livestream will have Design Lead Lars Bakken give us  look at the new state of the Crucible. Designer Grant Mackay will detail plans for Warlocks, with information on changes both large and small and Senior Designer Jon Weisnewski will share information on how the arsenal is about to evolve again.

Destiny: Xur, Agent of the Nine, Tower location and Exotic gear (4/15/16)

Xur is back in Destiny, the first time since the April Update brought tons of new content to the game in the form of new customizations, armor, a higher Light level, a new Strike, Prison of Elders and plenty more. With the update in tow, you'd expect Xur to bringing some pretty items – right?

Well, if you're happy with item at 280 Light, that's what he's brought with him (for the most part). This week Xur has brought a Helmet, Gauntlets, Chest armor, various consumables and Bad Juju – arguable one of the best Pulse Rifles in the game.

Xur can be found in the Reef, down the steps and through the door that once locked him in – but is not permanently open.

DC Universe Online coming to the Xbox One

DC Universe Online is making its way to the Xbox One. After being out on all major platforms besides the Xbox One the superhero MMORPG is finally coming to the Xbox.

The official DC Universe Online (DCUO) Twitter page has been tweeting out two teasers for the Xbox One version and been saying that more information on the new version of the game will come during PAX East on 23 April.

DCUO is an MMORPG set in the DC Comics world where players get to pick side between the heroes and the villains and fight for whichever side the player chooses. Players also gets to pick what type of hero he wants to play as and what type of powers the hero, or villain, will have. Players gets to live the dream of being the virtual superhero of their dreams.

DCUO got ratings between 65-75 and according to the critics it was a good alternative MMO.

Also, Mark Hamill brings his iconic Joker voice to the game and Kevin Conroy once again shows who the true voice of Batman is.
